I was pretty upset in class today. A series of events happened. Firstly, it was my Chemistry result. Secondly, there was this guy in my class who kept boasting about his oh-so-good results. Thirdly, the CCA grade. Let me elaborate. About my Chemistry result, apparently, there is nothing I can say. Upset as I was, this guy kept talking about his results. I mean, perhaps he meant it in a joking manner but to me I was in an erupting mood and I wasn't in a mood to entertain his 'jokes'. As for the CCA grade, I know I'm not in a position to comment but I just have to. I felt that there were people who deserved another mark for their CCA grade. However, those who really did not deserve any mark kept insisting that there was an error. I mean, why keep talking about it when they can just go and look for the teacher-in-charge to clarify? Perhaps I was in a bad mood and this thing came along and I started getting really irritated. I don't mean to offend anyone but this is really how I feel. It is not as if they are the captain of a netball team, right? I mean, if a person has the rank; captain in netball, then shouldn't she deserve at least an 'A' than a 'B'? Conversely, when a person with a second highest rank has already gotten an 'A' and counted that it is correct, why not accept it as it is? Different CCAs has got different activities. A person may seem like he/she put in minumum effort in his/her CCA even though he/she has a rank, but if we think carefully, are we only looking on the surface? A sectional leader may sound unimportant, but if we look beneath the surface, there is actually so much that a leader has to do and this will definitely not be comprehended by others. Indeed, people from other CCAs may think that ranks in other CCAs are unfair. Let us not judge from the surface of things. People may wonder what a band major has to do. The truth is, a band member may not even understand fully what exactly a band major has to do or how the major feels holding the job. One must be in the postition to understand fully. So, can we not judge CCA grades by making comparisons with ranks from other CCAs? Let's just say that each of us have our own responsibility and duties to fufil.
